Default skip shift ?'s

hey guys. i just joined cuz i FINALLY got a car! (after years of dreaming and a few months of searching)99z m6 w/64k for 6grand. the car is in great shape and is all stock w/flowmaster cb. that means it still has the good ol skip shift. my ?s are; what EXACTLY does it feel like wen its engaged becuz wen i shift from 1st to 2nd it grinds(unless i shift real slow and im traveling slow) it gos into 3rd fine.it feels to me like the syncros but ive never driven one w/o the s/s eliminator.i would think it would just, NOT let u shift.with no grinding.right?

my other ? is can i eliminate it w/o buyin a kit?

thanks guys,
cant wait to start tearin into this car!!!!!

i hear BOVs in my sleep

When the CAGS is activated, you cannot get it into 2nd. An angled blocker prevents it.

Grinding is another issue.

And yes, you can eliminate it by unplugging the connector, and installing a 2200k ohm resistor to fool the computer into thinking it's controlling the solenoid.
