255/55r15
26-10.5-16

Both work and there are othersk. Stock wheel is a touch too skinnie but unless you are making killer power you will be just fine with any 10is" slick on the stock wheel.

I will be running the 26-10.5-16 M&H Cheater slick. From what I have read it performs great for a manual car. Its a bias-ply street legal drag tire.

for a 28 DR I started getting high 1.5s on the 275 M&H DRs great street tire too. Im really happy with them, run them on the stock 16x8 Z28 rims 24/7

All I have seen in the cheater is a 26x11.5. I would think that would be too wide far an 8" rim?

I am running a 255/50 DR on the 16s now, just looking for more grip.

I'm looking for a 26" tire that will be track use only.

I read some other threads on here that the 26-11.5-16" cheater slick will fit on the stock 16x8 rim.

Go with a bias ply tire over a drag radial for a 6pd. You need the soft side wall to take some of shock.

On my 89 GTA I run a 28x11.5x16 Hoosier QTP DOT on on stock 16x8 wheels, it's been 1.47 60ft off a brake at 3650lbs and they are very consistant. I used to run the M/T ET Street 26x11.5x16 when I had a different gearset out back and had good results too, with 60fts in the 1.48-1.49 range, but they were not as consistant as the Hoosiers.

Couple of pics with the 28x11.5x16's out back
