Stereo & Electronics - Door lock

I just replaced my door panels on my t/a,and i'm having trouble getting the rod back in the slider piece.Any tips?

Mine snapped in without too much of a fuss. I made certain that the wire end from the lock was in the forward position (towards the dash) and reached a finger around the door handle bezel to snap it in (after aligning the wire end to the protrusion).

ya like disciple said, i leave my rod in the unlocked position and press on the piece

And I thought I was the only one that had trouble putting those things back.... having big hands don't help me much.... :)
