Default Ford to Chevy driveshaft

Ive never screwed with transmissions and drive shafts before, but if i go to a 4L60e, and keep my ford 8.8 rear, other than shorten/lengthen the driveshaft, what do i need to do? Will the yoke fit the transmission ok?

OK so what all will i need? I got a brand new steel drive shaft and u joints recently that's why im asking. I know i will have to have it modified in length most defiantly. But will my yoke go into the 4l60/65? Or will that need to be changed too? I got a donor corvette with parts so i can take that one if i need too. Just trying to get all my parts before i do my swap, need as little downtime as possible in the vehicle.

What u-joint is the driveshaft setup for? What kind of slip yoke does the driveshaft have on it? What size yoke is on yuor 8.8? You need to give us more info on what you have.

I have no idea what it is, I will leave the 8.8 in im talking where it goes into the transmission. Its just the basic F150 yoke that goes into a c6 tranny...

My current transmission is 31x30 splines (1972-1996). So what will i need to do as far as getting my driveshaft to work for a 4l60e?

I "think" the stock driveshaft slip yoke for a A4 f-body is 27 spline. I know the T56 uses a 27 spline slip yoke and I am pretty sure the auto uses the same. If that is the case, you can order a slip yoke from Moser for about $90 that is setup for a 1350 u-joint. Hope this helps.

4l60 uses the same driveshaft as the t56 so it should be 27 spline.
