My first ls1
I recently purchased a 1998 Z28 camaro, its an automatic with almost 140,000 miles on it but its in good condition. I was wondering what mods or parts i should get for it. Im not looking for anything to expensive i got around $2,000 to play with so let me know what you think

Hey , Im new to ls1 also just bought an 01 t/a last year
But the thing I did that has made the most difference was put in a set of 3:73 gears, mine is an automatic also, I mean my engine is stock even the manifold, cats and exhaust, except for a $ 150 flowmaster muffler in the back, I do have the ram air and I bought a $100 air lid but, when I did the gears it was like SHAZAMM that bad boy will eat up the pavement and pin you back. An Ls1 is bad out of the box but get it geared right and BUM BAM. I mean I would love a set of headers and Borla exhaust but more for the sound than the power. I am telling you gears, gears, gears get the job done.

Man that's plenty of money to mess with. I'd do as many bolt ons as possible. I would do long tubes, lid, SSRA or FTRA, ls6 intake, and a cutout or exhaust. Depends on what you want though because you can probably install a nice nitrous kit with that money

no, the **** a factory freak is stupid. Whoever says factory freak i wanna punch in their damn eye socket. If your car was a "factory freak" it would be a freak at stock options not gears. Now im gonna go put 3.73's in my car.. does that mean i have a factory freak? NO it mean i got a ls1 with gears.

No because it's ******* stupid. A factory freak? like they made special cars or something
Like i said in my first post
Any heads are better than the ones you got on the car, ls6 intake, headers cutout, stall, shift kit, or rebuild the tranny or motor.

That's mainly due to the driver. Of course we all know by now about monday cars and tolerances...blah blah blah, but I give a "freak" 5-10hp at the wheels AT MOST.

Get some upgraded parts and refresh your transmission and put a converter in it. Then get some tires and a tune.. Grab a lid for cheap and get one of those 30$ cut outs from jegs and have someone weld it in to bypass the stock muffler.
Will take up most of your money but nothing else will give you more bang for the buck. I don't care if you do full bolt ons, it isn't going to equal a car with a converter and sticky tires.
After you do that save up a bit more and do exhaust/intake.. After that do a cam.
Anything else will be a waste IMO when you still don't have a converter.. A converter should be the FIRST mod to an A4.

Some of these guys need to dial back the roid rage...lol I mean this is a newbie forum...no need to get in someones face and yell...Do what you can afford...bolt ons do a lot for the LS1 but nitrous is crazy...it depends on if you want to be a fast DD or if you want to blast down the strip from time to time.
