Default Fox Body or F-Body

If you had a choice to build an N/A LSX drag car... would you choose the f-body 98-02 or mustang fox body 87-93.

the goal is to get 8.6-8.9 N/A with 3000LBS and 750whp LS-series engine through a TH400 5500 Stall Speed.

go to a drag strip, 9 out of 10 cars are fox bodies due to the weight reason.

I would be looking at 28x10.5 at a minimum, if not minitubbing and going larger for better traction IMO.

I think it would be pretty hard to get that much horsepower out of it w/o any power adder. With that said I dont see it running in the 8's. But I'm deff not saying it wont or cant! It would be a nasty set up in either car for sure!

the engine i wanna build is supposed to be around 850-900 HP Flywheel so it depends on how much drivetrain loss ill get.. its a big engine with solid roller setup and great flowing heads..

based on my calculations, the car should do high 8's. I have a friend with a fox body doing 536whp lsx running 9.5 secs..

its not easy but doable i guess.

I considered the same thing but I like the F-body platform, that and I got a deal I couldnt refuse on my 98 so I went with that. I have alot of time left to ****** up a cheap fox and build it up sometime if I choose to.

The six speeds inc car used to run low 9's so I dont see why a lighter fox body with a stall couldn't cut some 8's.

Love our fox, they're so easy to work on, and they've got a good setup suspension setup for drag. Heck, we're almost in the 9's NA with stock style suspension (rear drag shocks), gutted interior, and a basic built 408 cleveland. Think it's about 2800lbs, still has all the glass, some lexan would really lighten it up some.
