new clutch? RAM HD?
well after i pulled my motor a couple of months ago, i looked at my Centerforce Dual Friction clutch to see that the disk is in ok shape, but the pressure plate is all beat to hell from those dang starter peices that were in the tranny, well the pessure plate seems to have a crack starting... so i am NOT having a clutch grenade on me so the question is what clutch are you guys running? i dont think i will be going back to the DF, i like the price of the RAM Powergrip HD and it says it holds up to 650 HP, is anyone using this clutch? i need one to hold about 550 HP.. let me know guys, thanks

Mine held great with just bolt ons but it didn't even hold one dyno
pull on my new motor it only had 2000 miles on in and I only put down 410 at the wheels. Replaced it with a spec stage 4 and couldn't be happier

another failure here, could not hold the 463 HP my car threw at it,,,, Just spend the exta money and buy a monster and dont worry about it anymore,, I still kick myself for trying to save 300 bucks and ended up smokin the ram, Now I am buying a monster anyway and that money spent on the ram,, Out the window...

Well from the looks of the picture in his signature he has an lt1 and we're limited on clutches. Like i said i run a spec stage 4 but most people dont like it on the street. I was going to go with the spec stage 3+ because i've heard alot of good thing about it

I'm on my 2nd RAM HD. The 1st I raced and daily drove for a few years, and a little over 10K street miles. It never slipped untill it wore down under the useable thickness spec. it was staring to rub metal on metal, after getting all the the life out of it. Replaced it with another, I was so happy with it. This one I have my 2step set at 6500 and as high as 6800 getting 1.5s best getting down latly in the low 14.s all day thats 100's of passes. I have not had one problem with this clutch! I drive the car across the US to the LSX shootout, a few summer road trips too, rush hour stop and go and I race the car once a week. I even put about 25-30miles on the car today, lol it was low 20's outside hahaha The DR suck I hear some people say there didn't last long? and some other do realy well with it. I think some people just can;t drive and ride it to much with a cam not tuned good?

I've had 2 RAM clutches (HDX and Powergrip). They DD pretty nice, but I destroyed the HDX with hard driving. I wouldn't recommend a RAM for your power level.
Another thing to keep in mind: Some LT1 guys on CZ28 were getting RAM clutches with knock-off chinese PP's.
I say just get a twin disc and never worry about it again.
