Default Trimming Procarparts Gauge Overlays?

Has anybody trimmed their reverse glow gauges to fit the edges of the Trans Am bezel? I wouldn't think the current path would run outside of the hashes and what not, but I would rather ask than assume, and screw them up.

Gotta love Christmas

Default no trimming needed.

i have those guages in my 01 Z28, and the trans am bezel and didn't have to trim them at all, they look just fine without any work. Except the two holes where the stops go for the speedo and the tach, everything looks just perfect without any work done to it.

I have those gauges in my 98 Z28. And while, no, you don't have to trim them and they look good, they look better when you do. The only thing it'll change on the lighting is the "Unleaded Fuel Only" part will be gone so it doesn't light up. The rest of it lights up just fine still. To me it makes them look like more expensive gauges with the benefit of indiglo.

The red parts (Km/h, needles etc.) don't show up in the camera but they are easy to see in real life.

Am I reading right when the price on those reverse glow gauges are only 50.00 shipped? Or is there something else I need to buy with it? When I had my truck I put some in from APC and it cost me 120. Just curious because I really like the look.

no you read it right, the only thing you have to do is wire into the headlight switch so that when you turn on your lights the gauges light up, if you need to i can look and even tell you what wires need to be tapped into for it to work.

Thanks for posting the pics SuperDave! That's exactly what I was looking for. I've got a slightly different gauge set than you (mine doesn't have the glow ring), but I'm sure it all works the same.

01Z28- I wouldn't mind knowing which wires you used. It would save me a few minutes of work if you would take a peek at which ones you tapped into.

Where did you guys mount the little ****?

Doesn't look to bad in there Dave, but I don't think that would work to well for me, I need all the leg room I can get. I think I'm probably going to end up mounting it in the ashtray along with some kind of a QTEC switch, whenever I get around to it. Thanks again for the pics!

And here is a picture of them after I cut them up before I installed them:

I got mine with the crappy controls, too, but I got it about a year ago.

Gauges look great in there Jason, I'm anxious to get mine done.

I can't find the place that sells the TA cluster bezel for ~$15, anybody know who sells them for something around that price?

I got mine for $15.25 shipping used off eBay, but I was kind of lucky. Otherwise I know you can (or at least could) get them here new, but it'll be more... they're the ones who made it for GM I think:

Specmo Enterprises. 1-800-545-7910, T/A Bezel Part # 16230640

I think one of the fbody or gauge selling sites had them, too.
