Default How much power will i gain?

I have a 2000 Trans Am and I was wanting to install an LS6 intake and ported tb. My current mods are as follows:

mti clear airlid, k&n filter, hooker longtube headers, ory w/ elec. cutout, slp dual dual catback.

i have the 853 heads which sucks, but i can't afford good heads right now. about how much power to the motor should i make after adding an ls6 intake and ported tb WITHOUT a tune. i want to wait until i get a cam and heads installed to do a tune.

i estimated on the higher side, but i don't think 15 is impossible.

the reason i haven't done an ls6 intake is because i've seen too many people only gain 7 or so hp with it. i don't plan on a cam any time soon so it's really not worth the $ to me.

Hell, 15-20 isn't to bad. I'm installing a LS6 intake this weekend! Can't wait till spring to drive the car again.

remove the ribs on the underside of the intake to retain the stock coolant lines.

Agreed! That's what I did to mine last week and followed a picture on here of how to do it. Or just buy ls6 coolant lines for $50. And I also recommend buying a new OPS because if you don't know what to feel for or where its at then you're probably going to break it! If you don't need it take it back, but at least you have one if need be.

You can. There's really no need for all of the fins. Just plug the intake holes with something so chips of plastic don't go into the intake.

The way I see it every ride is different. Some might pick up more, some might pick up less, and there are some cars that are just absolute freaks. I put down 347.6 rwhp. This is what I have lid, filter, intake, p+p t/b, ls6 intake, 85mm mass, LT w/trud duals. I did have it tuned mostly bc its an a4 and wanted every last drop. Either way you go it is a good supporting mod especially if you know your gonna follow up with some other kick *** mods. Good luck

I'd say more like 10rwhp, especially with no tuning

I think I only gained around 20 rwhp (based on track times) with my ported FAST, but throttle reponse would lead you to believe it was more...feels a lot better
