Default Possible to replace Oil Pressure sending unit WITHOUT intake removal??

Is this possible on a Ls1 F-body?
Well, not so much possible, as fesable. I have heard that SOME have done it. Just curious if I should go ahead and remove the intake. Id hate to dick around with it for an hour, only to end up removing the intake regardless.

If you take your time you can do it if you have the right tools.

A friend swapped oil pressure sending units on my car without removing the manifold. It is tricky but with the right tools and if you know what your doing it can be done.

Do yourself a favor. Just remove the intake. or the Trans.

Most of use do not have tiny hands like this guy.....

the manifold isn't all that hard to take off. i'm sure with the right tools and if you have small hands it can be done. just recently i was contemplating taking the headers off to install poly motor mounts and in the end changed them without touching the headers. worth a shot to at least try it

I have taken my manifold off plenty of times.

You need to disconnect the harness from all injectors.

Some tape to hold up the 4-5 intake manifold bolts, and disconnect the line to the vaccume booster. Watch out for the MAP sensor harness. Also there is a small vacume line that needs to be disconnected.

I know I could get it out with the appropriate socket but the hands are too big to get it back in place.

PLUS when you do this job, you put the vaccume line back where it will not break the oil pressure sensor again.

There is a special socket that works. I think its a deep 32mm that clears the body of the sensor. Just pull the manifold if you dont have or cant find the socket.

I didn't think it was a regular socket....my neighbor had it (mechanic) and it was f'ing weird looking. Because I've replaced it before (though with the intake already off), I believe it to be possible. But if it were me, sacrifice the extra half hour and take the manifold off. Just be careful putting it back on
