Default Viperspec T56 Question

I am swapping a LS1 into my Nissan 350z right now and I looking to buy a viperspec T56 from a friend.

The transmission is stuck in fourth gear right now so I was wondering if anyone has some input on what that could possibly be? Bent shift fork?

He had the transmission in his Mach 1 Mustang so I understand that I have to swap the bell housing for an LS1 bellhousing. The tail shaft is not a big deal since I am going to be using a custom driveshaft.

My big question is will the input shaft be different than what the LS1 needs? Length? Splines? Diameter? Do I need a different input shaft?

Probably a broken set of shift keys in the 3-4 syncro assembly.

What he said...

You will need a different input shaft for a t56 f-body. You'll also need to swap the front adapter plate to an LS1 f-body peice if you want to use the gm style clutch hydraulics.

The gm shaft would be longer, have 26 splines, and the pilot bearing diameter would probably be different as well.

Estimated cost for parts & labor? Where to buy?

Our full level two rebuild would run you $999. The input would be $198.99 and the adapter plate is $289.99. You would also need an LS1 style bellhousing...you may be able to find one of those used for about $100-150.

We have parts for sale listed on our site here: http://www.tick-performance.com/tick...body/t56parts/ You can buy the level 2 parts kit for $629.99 or you can just buy individual parts that you need. At the very least you would probably want to go with some new carbon rings, bronze fork pads, and billet 3/4 keys.

Heres a link to our full rebuild prices and options: http://www.tick-performance.com/tick...ackages/fbody/

Talk about getting the info you need! What kind of clutch/flywheel setup are you going to go with once the tranny is done being rebuilt?
