Default 2001 T/A headlights going all sorts of crazy ways after install.

Well, I decided to get numbers matching headlights for my '01 T/A that were rated a little brighter than the factory. Well, I had a few issues installing them(the screws were getting ground down on the heads) and after a difficult install, I test them at night.

The passenger low beam seems to shoot a bit low and it is like just a small ray of light shooting out 3 feet in front of me.
The drivers light shoots up in the air and looks like a spotlight aiming up.

Any idea what I could have done wrong? I know they are the right lights. Both lights say LF on the front. I thought it might mean left front, but every light at the store says that.

First, make sure they are properly seated in the brackets.

Second, use the adjuster screws to aim the headlights. There are two torx-head adjuster screws per bulb. One on top, the other to the side.

Also, "LF" doesn't mean "Left Front". LF / UF is the Category. I don't know what it means though. However, the H4703 low beam bulb will have "LF" on it and the H4701 high beam will have "UF" on it.

Thanks a bunch! I have bought some new tools recently, including new torx heads(I'm hoping to tear at it tonight or tomorrow so I can start creeping around at night again. When all of the bolt on mustangs come out, bwahahahah.

BTW, you don't have to remove the plastic shrouds to adjust them either. The shrouds are notched so you adjust the headlights.

Try the Help! section at an auto parts store. I think I saw one there once.

I find the adjusters strip out really easy for whatever reason but try using a 7mm socket on a 1/4" socket driver. Pretty sure that is the size if I remember. It will grab the outside area of the adjuster head rather than the torx portion in the center.
