Check out my luck(stupid deer)
I was riding around tonight and I turned a curve and there was a doe and her little one standing in the middle of the road. I slammed on the breaks and I blew the horn also(might have been my mistake) and they didn't decide to go on off the road.(by this time I had taken the left side of the road to avoid an accident) So they decide they wanted to take the left side of the road also. Then the mammy decides she wants to go back to the right side of the road and the little one is too far at this point and I HIT the fawn. Yes I HIT THE DEER!!!!!!!
I have not noticed anything wrong with my car besides it bent my right park light up(which all I had to do was pull it right back down and now its fine) I probably was going but about 20 or so when the impact happened. I am gunna give the car a thorough examination in the morning and make sure nothing is hurt. Otherwise I don't think I am even going to call my insurance b/c I couldnt even tell any paint was scuffed, etc.
I'll keep ya posted

Re: Check out my luck(stupid deer)
I hit a deer once. It was not a pretty sight. Two lane road, doing about 30-35 (not fast). This thing darted full sprint across the road. I clipped it with the front passenger side of my car (the deer almost made it).
Scary part was, the t-tops were off when it happened. I guess because of the slope of the nose of the car, the deer went about 20 feet up in the air and was spinning around. I could see it out of the t-top. I can still see it to this day and that was about 2 years ago.
The paint on the nose flexed and cracked, the nose where the deer actually hit cracked and the area of the nose around the light cracked. It wasn't that bad, but the car was still damaged.
I feel bad for killing the deer, cause it was a small deer (so I am assuming it was young).

I hit a deer or should I say a deer hit me. I was coming home after having some fun with my girl and I saw the deer in the distance so I slowed way down like 10 mph. As I got closer I saw that there was 2 of them. I stopped. They both looked at me so I turned off my headlights (they take off sometimes when you do that) no luck they both stared at me. One was off to the right the other in the middle of the road. I creeped forward and the one in the road flew into the fields so I thought id try to sneak buy the other one (ya right) I move forward he made a step I stopped he stopped I joke you not 5 moves we made back and forth then I said “**** it” as soon as a started going he slammed into my rear Q panel lucky me it was my winter beater

when i had to take driving school for tickets the instructor told us to hit the animals. He said its far better to kill the animal than cause an accident and kill somebody else. He gave us a figure(i forgot, it was years and many tickets ago) for the amount of accidents/deaths that happen because people swerve or slam on their brakes to avoid hitting Thumper or Bambi. He aslo told us to kill it after you hit it and put it out of its misery. Saw some cool videos that day...too bad i had to pay like $60 to see'em.

Anybody see Tommy Boy? That was my first thought.
Sorry to hear about you accident. It's weird that your car didn't really suffer any damage. Usually the paint will "web" in front when it flexes.

Sorry about the car, there is truth in the saying "freezes like a deer in headlights." I've come close to hitting one , so far so good...no kills yet.

The car is relatively fine besides some cracked paint. I'm thinking of turning it in on my insurance. I'm not sure yet.

You guys think you have a story!?! I was with my friend when we hit a racoon! He was driving his 96 z28 when it happened. It caused him $5k in damage to the front end. Long story but true.

I almost had one Sat night on my way home from a show...I swear it looked like I missed it by inches...it was a brown blur coming closer and moving across the passenger side. Doing 60, that would have been real bad.

It's rutting season! Time to keep your eyes peeled for deer until around X-mas. They're all going nuts and are out of control when they've got sex on their minds. Very active and unpredictable.

Re: Check out my luck(stupid deer)
I hit a big buck last fall doing 80mph. It was about 2am and I had just gotten off work, going down a deserted 2 lane and just past a bridge underpass I saw a shadow of something, then a fraction of a second later I see its eyes and its huge antlers turn to face me. Biggest deer I have ever seen, and it was looking away from me which made it harder for me to see. He kinda did a little spin in the middle of the road and I headed for the emergency lane on the shoulder on the brakes HARD. His antlers clipped my drivers side mirror and ripped it clean off knocking him down. As soon as I got stopped I jumped, checked the car out, and went looking for the deer. The deer survived because he was gone before I could get out of the car. Still the biggest deer I have ever seen and I consider myself extremely lucky of my very minor damage.
