Glasstek 'WS6' Style hood. Is it just me or...
Is it just me or is the Glasstek 'WS6' style hood not to factory specs? It looks a little taller and the edges are.. sharper. It might just be the pic I saw. It was on LS1speed.com.
I need a WS6 hood, I just want something that is going to bolt on without modification. People are telling me I can either get the SLP H.O. Hood or the Factory hood and that is it. I heard Suncoast is pretty bad but I haven't heard much at all about ASCD and Glasstek. Anyone go with these brands? I'm also worried about them breaking. I don't want it to split when some idiot leans or sits on it. Is the Factory hood my only option?

The Glasstek hood looks funny because it's a picture from the suncoast site. The humps are bigger and more defined than a real WS6 hood. Oh and it's ASC who makes the WS6 hood.

just thought I would give you another site to look at and check out, I know they have hoods, but I don't know what all they do have.
www.harwood.com we found one for my 97 TA that was pretty cheap.

I think I gave you the wrong link, www.harwoodhoods.com is another one, for performance parts for your car, the site I was trying to link you to I can't find right now, so maybe I didn't help after all. I'm sorry. If I find it soon, I will be sure to post it. Sorry. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

if im not mistaken, the harwood and the glasstek have the holes in the nostrils filled. owners would have to cut out the filled area.

Would the ASCD hood be the identical hood as the factory WS6 with the functional ram-air or would it use a 'custom' assembly to make it functional 'exclusively' sold at ASCD? Would it use the same lower airbox assembly as the factory hood? Would it be primed and ready to paint or would it need some work and fabrication to get it to fit right? I would almost rather spend the extra $300 and get a factory hood so all I have to buy is a $50 lower airbox. I might as well if the ram air assembly is $300 or so. Also, would a factory WS6 hood come ready to paint? That would be another reason, less prep. labor cost. I just wanna get the right one first. If it is only going to save me a hundred bucks or so then I would rather just do it right the first time .
