Default Picked up a V

Well I sold my Cobra and I am finally back in an LS powered vehicle thank god. I am picking up an 04 Raven Black CTS-V with 28K miles on it and I am pumped. It is basically stock. Just a few questions. I am not new to the LSx world as you can see by my sig. Other than the obvious rear end issues what do I have to look out for with this car. I will be doing the G-Force axle with a pinion brace and it already has Specter bushings installed. Do intakes do much for these cars? I have read that a filter is all they really need but most companies claim double digit HP gains with their kits. I plan on doing Kooks LT's, Magnaflow C/B, UDP, and a Comp LSr lobed cam. Specs are 227 / 235 .614 / .621 112 LSA and the Extreme Composites cowl hood.

drop in filter should be fine, im not sure with a cam if youll see more gain but on a stock car you might see 2-3hp with a CAI. congrats BTW. the other mods sound good, if you have big power plans you might as well drop the money on a set of pro axles.

Lol. I hated everything about the interior. Ergonomics are all f'd up, shifter, pedals you name it. The only good thing was brutal way the power hit and the sound of the borla stingers. I did not enjoy getting into it anymore due to the above and other quality issues. Plus I have a 6 month old son now and it was near impossible to bring him anywhere. I wanted something with bit of luxury and a LSx motor. Thought about the g8 but I have always loved the cts-v.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that things that. I've been in a few mustang v6s, gt's, but no cobras. I absolutly hate the way everything in the interior is laid out. Its a very awkward car to drive...maybe because ive had 4 fbodys..either way, I'm never leaving the LS based world.

thats because every mustang(v6, gt, cobra) from 94-04 had the same layout and almost all looked identical minus tiny things. there is nothing really special from the v6 model to the cobra.

Well I would not go that far. There are just as many if not more differences btw the 03-04 Cobras and the v6 Stangs as there are the V and the base model CTS. One thing I will say about the Cobra is you do not get many takers to race you. When I had my SS everyone and their mother would try to run me. In the Cobra no one would. I have had Vettes, Ricers, F-bodys you name it back down. Even the same guy in an RS4 that egged me on in my f-body would not even come near me in my Cobra. Then again 50mph rolling burnouts for a couple hundred feet usually scare them off. I will miss the raw power and sound but nothing else. But you know what they say about the LSx motors. Built by the hand of god, Runs on the blood of Christ.

Lol, thats kind of what I want. Blend in with a classy, muscular look but still have a nice American V8 when I want to have fun when the little guy is not in the car.

as there are the V and the base model CTS.
I'm pretty sure the V and the base model (small v6) are totally different cars. When I bought my V, I had to wait 3 weeks for it to come in. The dealer gave me the 210hp 2.8L (i think?) version. I had not driven a V yet. The base model felt cheap, my knees hit the dash even with the seat all the way back, it overall had me very worried about my V. Fortunately all it took was sitting in my V when it came in to know that it was an entirely different car

i think the interior of a fully loaded cts and a v is basically the same minus the v logos
