car wont lock by key fob, but will arm alarm hit the lock button once and it honks once, alarm is armed but doors are unlocked, any ideas? oh and im thinking of moving to a better security system, with remote start, any recommendations? not real good with security stuff. thanks

Try locking the doors with the power lock button instead of the fob. Does it do the same thing? Arm the alarm but not lock the doors?
If so, you've got the same issue I had. Relays in the BCM wore out. "Easy" fix if you know what you're doing with a soldering iron and can source new relays (that was the hard part for me).

No bullshit my car did that and I had one of the parking lights went out. I replaced it and it works fine. Another thing I might ad if you have an aftermarket stereo that might be the problem. But when I changed mine it said security on the instrumen cluster and found out it was some wire that was hooked of wrong. Hope my advice helps
