Default EGR/AIR Delete

Hey guys im sorry i am really bad at what section to post things in lol but i have a couple questions about the EGR/AIR delete.

I have been lookin around and cant find any write ups with pictures on deleting these. Im gettin LT headers on my LS1 with no cats so i dont need that stuff anymore..

Anybody have some good how-to links for this?

I deleted my egr system as well. I didnt delete my air system, its a little bit more complicated. Deleting your egr is pretty simple. All you need to do is by a block off plate for your headers and intake manifold. Need any help feel free to ask. Dont hesitate.

Also, that LS1 geo metro must be pretty fun?? Kinda makes me laugh thinkin of a v8 in those things

I dont have a Geo, let alone an ls1 in it. I dont even think an ls1 fil fit in a geo ha. Never owned a Geo. Thought it was funny. I got links for you if you need them for the block off plates.

Heres the block off plate for the egr connection on the headers.

Heres the link for the egr connection on top of your intake manifold.

Do your headers have egr provisions?

No problem. So if your headers dont have egr hookups you will only need the second link I posted for the top of the intake manifold.

The air delete is pretty simple too. There are a few write ups on here with pictures that show you how to do it. If your new headers don't have air, then you are going to want to delete air too. Also, getting rid of those air lines that go everywhere will help clean up the engine bay.

Yea from what I heard deleting air is as easy as removing the pump, pulling the lines, and blocking off a small part on the back of the intake. I will tell you from experience here soon when I go to do my headers and delete my air.

So not to sound like a total newb (even though I'm a partial one ) What are the benifits/ HP numbers from deleting the EGR and air? I know it makes for a cleaner engine bay, but I'm just more curious about the technical benifits.

Do you know what the egr does? Sorry if this makes you sound like a newb.

egr/air delete neither increases nor decreases power at all. It's simply for emissions purposes.

And to stop recirculating garbage back into your intake manifold.

Yes it recirculates exhaust gasses to more thouroghly burn them. So wouldn't this equal more more efficient engine output if your not putting exhaust gasses back into the intake?
