Default Stripped bolts that go into slave cylinder...

I was replacing the clutch today and the slave cylinder bolts that screw into the transmission stripped out with literally zero force. I put loctite onto the bolts and threaded them back in. Is this going to be a big deal or should I go through the trouble of rethreading the bolts and using a helicoil?

If it were me I would grab a helicoil kit or drill it out and go up 1 size if possible. You don't want them coming out.

You've got everything out already...just get the correct helicoil and do it right the first time. It would suck *** to have to pull everything back apart just for that.

Actually if I'm understanding what he said, its NOT a helicoil and his friend just drilled and tapped a bigger hole, which is completely different...I'm not sure you understand what a helicoil is because of your last sentence. It would be "why not USE a helicoil" or perhaps "why not drill and tap it" which is what I think your thinking of. Regardless, a helicoil is basically a threaded insert that you use when a hole is stripped and usually can't have a bigger bolt. You drill it out, install the helicoil, and when you screw in the bolt, it expands and doesn't move or turn because of the friction.

But yes, why you have it out, I would DEFINITELY use a helicoil.
