Default 4.30 gearing

I'm getting ready to buy a new rear end in the next few weeks and thinking of ordering it with 4.30's. Previous set up: 4L60E/4000 stall/4.10 gear on stock 10 bolt(took a **** last track outing) and 28" tires. Vid below in my sig--new best n/a--1.49 60ft. Do you think 4.30's would too much gearing? Trying to set the best combo. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Looking into an S60 or Moser 9".

I did a little math and with 28" tires and 4.30 gears you should be turning about 66-6700 at 122 mph ! If you lock up your converter the rpm's will be around 6300..... It looks like 4.30's will work . However , if you spray it you might run out of gear ! There is not much differance between 4.10's and 4.30's with a automatic !

You don't spray the car anymore?

4.30's NA might be cool. My white Camaro was dual purpose so I ran a 4.10 gear NA but 4.30's would have worked better with my 28x10.5's...

Im a m6 gone 128.5 on them, didnt kick the shiftlight at 6500ish. But the autp cars can be alot diffrent for your convertor. You almost have to tri it and find out if you wnat to get really close to ideal.

remebed too 28 etdrags grow to 29.0..... 29.5? maybe useing the gear/mph charts

Should be good on motor. I run a 4.33 in my 9" and I'm out of gear at 128mph with a 28" tire and converter locked in 3rd. No go if your going to spray though. I'm going back with a 4.11.

If the difference is not much and can give me another 200 rpm, then it should work. And yes, I'm still spraying 150-175 shot or so. Trying to get the best from both n/a and spray. Thanks.
