Hey guys anyone familiar with a good tuning software for a 93 f body and a 87 gnx I heard about tunercat...Though would it be as simple as hptuners or will I be lost trying to tune, any suggestions on what program or programs I should use.

Tunercats will work. You have to have the ability and equipment to program eproms. Both of those vehicles have replaceable chips. Not flashable ECMs. It's only as simple as what you know how to do.

I prefer TunerPro. I have a friend who prefers TunerCat.

It won't be as simple as HPTuners, but TunerCats has always been excellent by me. Everytime I've had a question regarding the software his response has always been very quick, and his willingness to update the software quickly has always been great too.

Both of those cars ECM's are very tunable, but as mentioned, you'll need hardware, TC site has links to the hardware you'll need. Be advised, the data coming out of the port on older OBD1 cars is not as fast as it is on newer cars, so it can be more difficult to get good data to use to tune.

Bear in mind that Tunercat is used to read the ECM and write to the ECM. You can change parameters, etc. As mentioned, you will need the ability to write to the chips, vs. the flash capability of later models.
For datalogging you will need another package, such as Datamaster. This will allow you to monitor the parameters and decide what to update in the ECM. VEMaster is also used to help dial in the VE Tables.
And you will need an ALDL cable to connect to your data port.
It's not an integrated solution like the LSx vehicles have, but it is well supported and there is lots of info out there.
