Default Offset of ZR1 Wheels..

I have some 17x11 ZR1's on the way. The person that I am buying them from is going to find out the exact offset today.. I do not know the company he is getting them from, but at this point that does not matter. What matters is what issues I might have post getting the wheels.. My car is lowered with the Eibach Pro Kit springs.. The company ordered the wheels from another and they were told they are for my Camaro. Usually this means the offset is from 50mm to 56mm.. I know one sticks out further than the other therefore needing the fender to be rolled. How bad is the modifications and what do I need..?

zr1's are 35mm i believe (may be wrong), but camaros need a 50 mm offset...so far i have no issues w/ mine, but if u have the zr1 offset, they will stick out way to far...

ZR1 offset is 36.5mm and the GS offset is 50mm.

Do the math ... 13.5mm (the DIFFERENCE between the offsets) is only about 1/2".

If you really think 1/2" is going to make them "stick way out", then think again!

Take a look:

So if 36mm offset makes the wheel go out a 1/2inch. Then a 56mm would make it go in just a little more than the 50mm offset.. Would that cause more inner rubbing?

The 17x11's showed up today.. According to the box they say 50mm offset.. They look great.. I have the eibach pro kit springs on my SS. Some people I have heard say they slapped them on and they have had no problems.. Some say they have to grind down the bump stop or completely remove it.. Some say they have to roll the lip.. Secondary to me now knowing I have the 50mm offset.. What do I need to do special to not have any problems when I put these wheels on..?

You may have to roll the lip.

You may have to do the BFH mod to the inner wheel well

The bumpstop is up to you, IF you want the axle to hang free when the wheels are on then yes the bumpstop must be modded, but if you install the wheel with the axle supported by a jack then you have no problems.

Ultimately, mount the wheels and tires and see what rubs.

The wheels are on.. I do not think I will have to roll the lip. I hear some rubbing in the inner wheel on the passenger side.. I will bang that in..

I adjusted the panhard bar to center the wheels and the rubbing went away, but as soon as I filled the car up the rubbing came back, but now on the drivers side.. It looks like I will be doing some banging..

Be sure to touch up the hammered areas with some undercoating spray. You can get it at auto parts stores.

Do I need to do anything with the bumpstops..? They do not seem to be a problem right now.. I will make sure I spray the hammered spots.

I just finished the BTFHOIM.. So far no rubbing on the turns.. I hope it stays that way. If I bang any harder I think I will go into the car..
