Default under hood padding?

is it bad to remove the factory under hood padding and leave it off for a DD?

will it effect the paint on the hood at all?

You will be fine removing it as far as daily driving duties are concerned.

Just be aware it may need a GOOD cleaning and I've even detailed a few cars who request I remove it and clean under it with no luck. Some of the stains were etched into the 'color'.

Good luck.

Got rid of mine years ago. Just scuff the underside once you remove the padding and hit it with some rattle-can paint (Dupli-Color)

yeah the metal hoods have an ugly black foam underhood piece. i thought maybe the WS6 hoods did but after i got my ws6 hood i was looking at pics online of other LT1 WS6 hoods and none had them, and then i noticed that the LS1s didn't either
