Default The New FAST 102MM?

Im pulling the trigger friday on the new 102mm FAST intake and throttle body.
I was wondering if I should get the fast the FAST throttle body or the PTM that TSP offers? other than price whats the difference between the two?

FAST TB's were known for sticking issues on the 90's.. Not sure if they have fixed it or not.

Just curious why you are going to that setup? Do you have the other things to support it?

I see they were to dyno test it but a 92 can go 96. How much can a 346 cube motor need really?

Ok.. If you're really set on it then go ahead. I'd say a 92 would be fine, but that's just me. But then again, if I had the money, I'd go with the 102 as well.. I've read LS2 rails are fine, but it also says LS3 rails work as well.

Nice! a FAST 102 is definately the cheaper route to go vs to getting a FAST 92 and then having it ported if starting from scratch. post results

The sticking issue was fixed long ago on the 92mm tb's. I can give you a great deal on the complete FAST combo. I'll do the FAST combo for $1,290 shipped.

The Fast 102 is selling for around $850 and you can pick up the PTM 102 TB or a similar for $400. The deal sounds about right for a 102/102 combo...just sayin.

YA but where he is getting at is the sponsor said for an all FAST setup 1290 shipped which is an awesome deal considering the fast tb is 519. And why does texas speed have a 100$ difference on what appears to be the same intake, ls7 and ls3? (102mm setup)

The FAST 102mm Throttle body has a small convolute (sp) build into it to help idle, drivability, and off idle issues with large throttle bodies.

I can have my brother send or post pics if you want to see.

Seems like overkill on a stock LS1 setup....id try to find a used 90/92. The 102 is obviously made for a gen 4 motor

Your thinking about it wrong. The individual runners are what dictate if the intake is "to large or to small", they create their own velocity and airflow to each cylinder. The throttle body opening is mearly an overall intake restriction, so if you have no restriction at 92mm run a 92mm.

Straight off the website

" The FAST™ LSXR™ 102mm Intake looks massive when compared to the stock intake. How much of a power increase can I expect to get from this thing?

This is a major misunderstanding in our market. Throttle “diameter” has absolutely nothing to do with torque curves or if an engine makes power down low or up high. All it does is dictate how much restriction the intake will see (less is better), and the size is directly proportional to throttle metering. If you open a large diameter throttle 10%, it is equivalent to opening a smaller diameter throttle 15%. To address this, the FAST™ Big Mouth 102mm Throttle Body™ (part #54102) has a convoluted shape to help with low speed drivability. FAST™ only recommends 102mm throttle bodies with “convolute” barrels for proper drivability. "
