Race Gas
I guess this might be the right place to post this. Where i live there's a certain gas station that sells leaded 110, I've run it in a bike i had with a built motor, and i've run it in the Talon, both with great results. The bike had flat-slides and the Talon is turblowed so is there anything wrong with running some of this leaded 110 thru a 11ish/1 maybe 11.5/1 ls motor? It has none of the emissions equipment, if that matters.

provided you don't have cats, then it won't hurt to run it in any car. however, why would you waste the money on 110 octane unless you have a high compression build, forced induction, or a ton of spray? Race gas doesn't magically make your car faster, it just helps to stop detonation.

Unless your motor is showing KR, then there is NO need for run race gas be it leaded or unleaded.
Race gas are one of those things where if you run it, you might as well have a C/R of 13.5 to 1.
FYI on gas stations that sell higher octane fuel. If the place does not regularly sells it and replaces it, you can get water in your fuel take. It's happend to quite a few people.

This place goes through it pretty quick. I'm pretty sure the gas doesn't sit long. I know the compression is over 11:1. ls6 heads that are slightly decked. big cam. I put enough in to make about 97 octane and it seems to run smoother and accelerated quicker and smoother.

I would also be concerned about the 02's over time with leaded fuel. You should get someone on here to help you figure out what your dynamic compression ratio is - if you are running a big cam as you have noted, that will bleed off cylinder pressure. You won't make more power if the engine doesn't need it - I have also read that a engine will make its best power right on the edge of detonation (without going into detonation of course).

You always want to use the *lowest* octane possibile that still 100% prevents detonation. This will give you the best power, in any application.
If you see 0 KR with 93 octane, then switching to any degree of race fuel will only slow you down.
