Default C5 Brakes with TTM Wheels?

I have heard the Torque Thrust M wheels may not fit over the C5 brakes, but I have not seen any details as for why.

I am thinking about running the TTM 17 x 10.5" wheels on all four corners and want to keep the option of upgrading to C5 brakes in the future if I go this route.

Has anyone tried these wheels with the C5 brakes? If they rub, could a spacer be used (1/8" or so) to clear the brakes without hitting the outer fender? Maybe even grinding and clearancing the caliper some depending on where it is rubbing.

And before you ask, the reason I dont want to just run the 17 x 11" ZR1's is because everyone has them, they are heavy, and they require more beatng and banging on the car than the near perfect +44mm offset 17 x 10.5" TTM's.

Thanks for the help.

a painted 17x11 ZR1 weighs ~24lbs and a 17x9.5 TTII weighs the same

i highly highly doubt a 17x10.5 TTM is going to weigh less than a ZR1

I thought I read the weight on the TTM's is around 22lbs. Either way, that is not the biggest reason.

Hopefully I can hear from someone who has the 17x10.5" TTM's on the front of their car.

TTMs are nice wheels. I think the issue with TT2s not fitting had to do with their double lip design. The TTM does not have the double lip so they should be able to make work pretty easy on the front. If anything a 1/4" spacer may be necessary.

Can anyone chime in that has 17 x 10.5" TTMs on the front of their car? Especially if its on a lowered car.

I think the reason why you aren't getting much feedback is that a 17x10.5 might be a little bit too big to fit without rubbing on a stock ride height car, much less a lowered one, not to be a buzzkill. my .02.

However, I do have 17x9 TTM wheels and I'm pretty sure a c5 brake setup might fit.

I to am looking at the TTM’s but in 18 inch. I’m currently running TT2 in a 17x 9 and 17x10.5 and they will not accommodate a bigger brake because of the way the spoke curves back in to the center of the rim. Blackhawk is right, 10.5 is more then you need for any tire you can fit up front. Any one have knowledge of 18 TTM’s and big brakes?

People run 17x11 ZR1's up front all the time on lowered cars. It's really not bad at all with a small spacer. The backspacing on the TTM's is slightly less than the ZR1's and thus it would appear that they would fit on the front without any spacer. I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm.
