Question Seperate fuel cell or twin intanks for 200-250 shot on 408?

Ive been having a hard time deciding on which way to go
Would like to know what people perfer when spray a 200 wet shot
Fuel cell or Twin 340 intanks to support 700+ rwhp?

I think the fuel cell would be nice since it will save me a lot of money by only putting a gallon of 104 race gas vs gallons of race gas in my gas tank. Whats the pricing on a fuel cell set up located where my battery is.

I already have a walbro 340 intank and will have 30lb svo injectors along with LS1Speeds high flow fuel rails.

what kind of kit are you useing. your sig says NX wet kit but which one. this will make the best desision. altough a seperate fuel system is the best way to go. i built mine for only $200. $100 for the cell and $100 for fuel pump and fittings. this is in my other car though and is moving over to the LS1 soon.

better off with a seperate fuel system imo... unless u upgrade all the lines from ur fuel take and fuel rails to the injectors..

Yes I have the NX wet kit and the most I can spray is a wet 200 shot I think? I am going to start with the 200 shot for a while and if I ever get board of that I will run a dual stage 250-300 shot. I am leaning more towards the fuel cell since it seems easier. I dont want to upgrade all my fuel lines.

Anyone have any pictures of fuel cells where the battery is or info on how to wire everything? I would like to maybe wire the pump to my WOT switch if thats possible

Don't wire the fuel pump to the wot switch. No offense but that's purely stupid and will cause you some very bad problems. Instead, just put in a very discrete toggle switch. 12 volts to the switch, from the switch to a 30A SPST or SPDT relay then relay to ground. 12 volts into the relay's high current side to the red wire on the pump. Pump to ground and you are set. Ideally you could even arm your entire setup that way.

As far as fuel cells go, I got mine from Triangle Engineering. It's a 1 gallon cell cut down 4". Make sure you get the tabs relocated to the top, I didn't and it proved to be harder to mount. Looks something like this: http://www.derty.org/382SR/nitrous/DSC00842.JPG

Plumbing is simple. Put a rollover vent in on the top left. -8 Out of the bottom and into the pump. Preferrably a Holley Black or a Magnaflow 300 would be fine. NX Doesn't really recommend anything less then a black because their low pressure tune up with larger shots ~300HP and higher really are reaching the max for that size pump (140GPH). I've used mine with a 200 shot and it's fine. It works it's *** off for a 300 shot and really isn't enough pump IMO. I'm going to upgrade to a 300GPH pump as a result. From whatever pump you choose it's -8 to the regulator then -6 from the regulator to the solenoid. You can leave it like that dead headed, which does work. Or run a -4 return line to the tank with a ~.018 nitrous jet in the fitting to restrict the line down. You just want air to escape and lose as little fuel pressure acrossed it that you can.

It really doesn't get everything, but here's what you should end up with: http://www.derty.org/382SR/nitrous/DSC01481_small.JPG

Also, did you order your NX kit with the high pressure jet map or the low pressure one used for stand alone setups? The high pressure jet map will contain the jetting off the stock fuel system not the standalone setup. Make sure you have the right one or you're in for a real surprise!

Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.

Another cool thing about the stand alone is that you can tune your air fuel ratio just by adjusting the fuel pressure on the external system

I don't take full credit for this setup. Much of it has been taking the better parts of a couple other systems. I'm going to do a full writeup on it today, hopefully, and get it posted. It should include some more photos and all of the parts.

DERTY: Where did you get that fuel cell from? I've seen Triangle's website, but do places like Summit/Jegs sell their stuff?

RCI seems to make a 1 gal cell, but I can't find it on Summit's site, and they sell all their other cell...

Just call them up directly. I've not seen any of their stuff at Summit or Jegs, seems to be a direct sale company from what I can tell. They make them on order and doesn't take long at all. The 1 gallon cell isn't listed, but they make it. They don't charge you different to simply take some length out of the tank when they fab it up.

Bed, bead, I guess it's all the same after a few beers. Why stop now, continue through tomorrow night while we're at it. But you're right, I do need to punch out for a few hours of sleep. Lots of stuff to drink tomorrow!
