Exclamation Chirping brakes?

Ok so last spring i put in drilled and slotted rotors and hawks high performance ceramic pads all around. The brakes worked wonderfully and were completely silent for about 6 months and then all of a sudden started chirping a bit when i slowed down. It only makes the noise at about medium braking pressure. If i really push on em theres no noise, and likewise if i just gently push on em. Should i just replace the pads again or what? cuz I cant stand that sound!

EDIT- as far as i can tell its just the backs that are chirping...i think...

AZ, OReilly, etc. I forget exactly what it's called, but it's specifically to put on the backs of the pads so they don't chatter against the pucks. Comes in little packets.

OK so I think I know your problem. The brake hardware in the back. To be specific it is the little metal tab thingys that go between the bracket and the pad. It is either worn out or if you got new they are not quite the right size/to big and rubbing the rotor.

well if that were the case wouldnt the rotors be wearing? they are still perfectly smooth...and since they were brand new hawks pads when i put em on i would assume they wouldnt have any fitment issues since hawks is pretty reputable...but when i take em apart i'll definitely look

Nick, I had the same problem your talking about a while back. I thought my pads were done with, with only 300 miles haha. Ended up being the pad retainer clip rubbing against the rotor. Almost positive that's your problem. Even just 2 milimeters with the clips rubbing against your rotor will give you problems.

When I changed my brakes, my mechanic buddy said to make sure and put that grease stuff on the bad retainer clips otherwise I would get the problem you have described.
