That pisses me off too. The only thing that seem to work for me is to use a damp rag, water only, and ring the hell out of it. Wipe it down good, then use a dry cotton towel and rub it hard (doesn't sound right). It comes back after a while but it works for a short time. Windex etc. always seems to streak no matter what.
Hey Mike, my buddy bought your TT2's and they look damn good on his TA. You should have charged him more

****, looks like there is no solution. I'm gonna try the Rain-X product and if that don't work I'm going to try the Windex-Newspaper trick.
Damian,
Great news! I figured you would hve had that cam in by now. Let me know how you make out!

Re: How do I get the film off the inside of the windshield?
I've noticed that the front windshield defrogger works really good... if i apply any of that stuff like Barkeepers cleaners and wax is it going to remove the film on the windshield (if theres even one?) or do anything to make the defrogger not to work as good?
or is it a normal solution (like windex) that could cause no harm? Also for the other solutions mentioned ... where can i get those? and for how much?

Re: How do I get the film off the inside of the windshield?
On the inside, where a film will build up, using a miuld abrasive like Bar Keepers Friend, as suggested, or Zaino Z-12 glass polish, will break down the film. It is important to get the glass completely clean every so often.

A terry cloth towel works great for me(to get the vapor off the inside of the windshield)...The best solution to clean the windows for me is light hand soap mixed with warm water...No streaks here

If you don't want a build up on the inside of your windshields, don't use any kind of protecting product on your dash. The film is a result of that stuff evaporating.
Solution: just use a damp clean cloth to wipe off your dash from now on. That will drastically decrease the "build-up" on the undersided of your windshields.

I haven't tried this yet but someone told me once that a mixture of vinegar and water will remove the crap from the inside of the windshield...
Might be worth a try!

Re: How do I get the film off the inside of the windshield?
The hazy film on the inside of the windshield is caused by a chemical reaction of the plastic parts of the interior. older cars with metal dashes and such didn't have that problem. The more plastic in the interiors now brings on the haze. About all you can do is to keep cleaning the inside, even though it's a pain. In short, we're stuck with it.
