Default Transmount = noise amp?

I switched cars with a friend of mine for a week. Less then an hour after he got the car he was telling me how fricken loud the car is on the inside. Compared to this 2008 STi, he said it almost sounds like the car is stripped.

I have been kinda annoyed by the amount of noise the mount has been transmitting too, I was wondering who else has had a similar experience.

I think I am going to go back to a stock mount because it seems to me like other then stock, there is no choice for "slightly" more stiff. Either all or nothing

A stock stiffness mount is being tested from creative steel right now. I also have one of these stock stiffness mounts that I will be testing with my very firm creative steel motor mounts in 2 weeks.

I trust you are paying full price as to not be biased in your review?

You should know my review is not biased by the fact that I can't stand the vibrations that came with the super stiff trans mount and openly admit it!

I have a thread on the other forums.

CS has awsome products. I love thier motor mounts, and thier diff bushing, But unless you dont mind lots of vibration leave the trans mount stock.

Went back to the OEM mount.

I actually enjoy the car now. I can't believe I was living with that amount of drivetrain noise!

I'm switching to the super soft poly mount from Creative Steel tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

I would get the medium motor mount and softest trans mount and the stiffest diff bushing, but some guys would say medium stiffness diff bushing...up to you

Ok. I'll do that. Thanks for the help!

I've heard of some guys running solid steel motor mounts but I would think vibration would be horrible.

I have the UUC dif bushing, I love it. I think it helps reduce plenty of hop. Next on the list is the specter cradle bushing and one of these axles everyone seems to be buying. I am really trying to hold off till the early adopters get some miles on their axles. See how well the dif/axles hold up.

Yeah man, I wanted to do the Axel too but like you, figured I'd wait and see how others like theirs first

I had the 1st installed Hendrix Econo-Axel and it has 2 drag days (17 passes) on them plus thousands of hard street miles. Diff is fine!

Just finished installing the new soft transmission mount and the vibrations are GONE!!! I would have NO problem recommending the super stiff motor mounts and super soft trans mount combination to anyone, but unless you are making some power or just want everyting to be very locked into place there is no reason not to get the Gray motor mounts with this soft trans mount. Max you better fire up the welder, these are going to sell like hotcakes once some more people get them in their cars!

I think ill run the stiff motor mounts and soft trans mount then. Id go with the grey mounts but having that added room to grow should i end up pushing big power will be nice...

Is his "soft" transmission mount the gray unit, or something newer? I currently have all gray pieces in a box.
