i did it to my car , tapped into the cd changer line instead of tearing into the head unit. works good. and fairly easy install

Yup, since Ref has an 01 his cars headunit has the auxiliary input... That's a good idea!

I've read up on this as well but didn't get too much into it.

Hey Ref, if you have $100 you can get the unit that lets you use the steering wheel and headunit controls to change tracks and keeps the iPod charged...

Thats actually pretty neat, problem is that I just want the AUX Audio jack set up so that I can plug in my Droid to listen to music. I guess if anyone finds someone to do it for $20 bucks let me, maverick32, and 59 camaro know

I did this and it works awesome. Like 10 bucks if you buy the cable also.
My car is a 2000 and I put the jack in the center glove box.

Fry's used to have them (they probably still do), and they usually have a layer of dust on the box and are in a corner of the car stereo section. Best Buy only carries the newer units that are not F-body compatible. The correct units only work on 2000 and newer stock headunits, or on cars that came stock with CD changers. Name is iPod2car or iSimple iPod2car, or something similar. There is a compatibility guide in the front flap of the boxes that should say whether or not it works on 93-02 Camaro/Firebird.
