If I lived in Miami, my swap would be moving at a faster pace. It's a cold *** SOB here right now!!! I'll be done by July if all goes well though. Congrats on getting your truck going.

Default '87 c10 with 5.3/4l60e

today i test drove my truck for the first time, with open exhaust. it seems like it had more power than my 383 stroker. yes i said it. the 323 (lm7) felt like it has more power than my 383. unbelievable. its a drive by wire unit. i barely touch the throttle and it felt like it wanted to break the tires loose.wow unbelievable.

Default Headers

Which A/C mount, and headers are you using? And what all did you have to modify to make them fit?

Default 87 c10 with 5.3/4l60e

thanks for all the compliments. to answer yelo71454 & buick455 i used jba shorty headers and the kwik performance truck ac mount kit. the headers resemble the stock truck headers but flow much better. i chose the jba's to avoid notching the frame. everyone i spoke to with the c10 lsx swap had to notch the frame no matter what heads we used. i used the kwik performance kit because the fabbed tune port set up looked ugly. i also would've had to buy the ugly stuff to fab. on that note spend the money once. i know, i know, i shouldve waited til i found a good used l92 engine n tranny. ill post a video of shorty running later once im certain most bugs r worked out. keep on wrenching ls1tech fam.

hello ls1tech fam. what r you all doing for tuning of pcm's. vendors reflash pcm's for base tunes to get the lsx swap running, where do you go from there? as i drive the converted vehicle i noticed black smoke from the exhaust with black soot landing on the pavement, as i press the throttle. as i drive the vehicle, it hesitates and the excelleration is not crisp like the wife's 'burban. help me out. thanks in advance.

I can vouch for this, I don't live too far from him. It's so cold I could either burn up all my project money and pretend to heat my poorly insulated workshop or I could stay inside and avoid being found frozen weeks from now.

Last time I was going to make a trip to the JYD, it rained... then turned to snow and back to freezing rain. WTF?!

Now if you southern cats would deliver some of your warmer weather to us...

Isn't it wonderful? I get sideways in second gear.

BTW, nice truck. Glad it's finally running, now go lay some rubber to celebrate!

did you get a obdII , if so you can run a scan as mentioned.... it could be something as small as a 02 sensor////

gofastwclass,,,, you are not going to like what I am about to say but,,,, I was about to go do what you said "laid some rubber and celebrate" and when I was on the freeway I noticed a hesitation and smell burnt trans. fluid.. so I pull over and yeapp... smell burnt so I trying to take off again to get off the freeway and 1, 2 gear good,, but then it just slips from 2 to 3rd for a loooong time and well long story short tranny is out..... I am gonna see if the guy where I bought it comes thru with the warranty

Default damn damn damn

sorry to hear that. i guess we r both side lined. right now im not liking the way shordee drives. one guy i spoke(tuner) to this weekend told he likes the FAST stand alone system. yes i know, $2500. i think im gonna try to find someone locally to dyno/tune shordee for real world conditions. the stand alone system wont see my $2500, just yet. i forgot to tell that tuner this was a budget build.
