Steering shaft bolt?

Default Steering shaft bolt?

Hey everyone, does anyone know where i can get the bolt that goes to the steering shaft. I think I lost it and cant find it in my shop. Any help would be great thanks. Here is a picture of what im looking for I set it as an attachment. Thanks again.

Autozone carries metric bolts that may work there. I think it may be a 8mm bolt. If not use a smaller diameter bolt and nut that will pass thru threads to tighten down till you get correct one. Dealerships rarely keep benchstock on hardware and charge too much. Unless a local salvage yard will let you get one out of a GM vehicle. A truck should have same bolt too.

It does appear to be an 8mm bolt and a 1.5 thread pitch.

But notice the elongated shoulder. That locks the shaft to the spline. Use a standard bolt in an emergency. But get the right fastner for the job.
