New SS owner with some questions
Hey guys I'm new to the forum here, not really new to cars, I'm an air force ground support mechanic and have done a lot of wrenching over the years on family owner vehicles along side my father who was also a helicopter mechanic in the air force. While I've always had a love for fast American muscles cars. i finally got around to purchasing one.
i bought a 2000 Camaro SS, auto, with 50K for $8700. While i've very excited to be the owner of this car, it is far from stock imo. the list of mods are as followed
Stock block, bored and sleeved
Diamond Turbo pistons (9:1 compression)
Eagle rods
Stock crank
LS6 Cam
LS6 Valvesprings
Lucas 42.5 lb injectors
Racetronix 255lph in-tank fuel pump
STS rear-mount turbo kit (bought at Texas Rear Turbos) w/Garrett T-60
STS dual-stage boost controller
STS methanol injection kit (boost/methanol switch mounted in ash tray)
TCI Super Street Fighter 3500 RPM lockout stall converter
TCI large transmission cooler
4L60E transmission rebuilt w/stoutest possible parts
All machine work performed by Yancy's Automotive in Smithville, MO. All mechanical work performed by Shane (turbo specialist) at Bill and Larry's Automotive in Gladstone, MO. Tuning provided by Anthony at PCM performance.
My big question is i have never had a car with these in depth modifications, I lost track of my love for cars around 2003 and my main focus was motocross. While its still a big love in my life i couldn't turn this car down. But what kind of maintenance besides the normal would need extra attention? Anything i should keep an eye on more than normal? Anything else you guys can fill me in on?
Thanks a lot guys

Congrats on the new ride, looks good! I used to work for Yancy a few years back. Shane definetly knows his stuff. (he used to stop by Yancy's frequently). We are planning some gatherings when the weather gets nicer, and your welcome to join us. Probably move locations around from K.C. to Johnson County KS from time to time. I'm sure we could all make our way to Topeka sometime.

The recession i guess. some guy(Shop owner in KC) couldn't afford to keep the toy and sold it to a Business partner, which in turn this business (body shop owner) repainted it and couldn't afford to hang on to it for him so they are just trying to break even on it.
And i came into play, Good thing about the military is I'm not too worry about losing my job at least not for the next three years.
But i've heard about some kind of oil problems on the STS turbos. Is there any way to hook an oil pressure gauge to make sure its getting enough oil or is there a built in warning system for that?
But yeah definitely would be interested in meeting up with some guys sometime. Do you ever get out to KCIR? I've never been there but i hear its a good track, i just stick to heartland since its just across town.

Thanks guys, yeah i'm excited to drive it, but i don't get home for two more months, i've never even laid eyes on the car.
But the previous owner said somewhere around 550hp at the wheels. I'm going to get it tuned and dynoed again once i get back
