Default Worth it to get a tune right now?

I had my transmission rebuilt recently with a Pro-Built performance kit which included a TransGo shift kit, and I have an MTI lid and Magnaflow catback. I can get a custom tune locally for $250 with adjustments for future mods included. At this point, the only thing I would get next would be a couple of high-flow cats if/when my stock ones go out. Right now, I don't plan on doing headers. So, would it be worth it to get a tune? Would I see much of an improvement in performance/quarter mile? Thanks.

Being an A4 you should stand to pickup some time on the track with a tune.

How much time? What about any benefits in daily commuting?

At this point, all a tuner is going to do is delete torque management and maybe adjust your shift points. $250 is stiff for that. You should be able to get it done for half that ... and if he's good guy, that'll include future (non-dyno) tuning updates at no cost.

I say wait until you get some major mods. Unless you can get it for 150.00 or less, I know in Oklahoma its not uncommon to get a basic tune with egr/air/fan turn on/rear o2's/tire size/gear change/torque managment delete for 75.00-100.00 easily...I say hit up one of the popular mail order guys on this board, they are sponsors and do it for far less than 250.00

Mail order FTW, heard good things about FROST....dont get a tune with future mods in mind, get it retuned when you get them. I wouldnt wanna ride around on stock manifolds with a tune for long tubes.
