Engine Drop and maintenance
I'm going to drop my motor and all connected parts. Reason is, my back won't let me bend and twist to do all the fun stuff anymore. I'm already plan on doing motor mounts and headers along with plugs and wires. Plus my oil pan is leaking, so I'll be replacing it also. My rack and pinion has a small leak so time like the present to take care of if.
The car has 105,000 miles on it, what else should I do. Remove egr/air is 1. should i replace the oil pump, timing chain.
Once everything is out, I'm sure the bug for a camshaft will hit me. I don't have a ton of money, so heads are out of the question.
Any suggestions would be helpful, this will be done over a few months especially if I have back surgery.
I would like around 400 rwhp, I have an auto.
Thanks

A decent cam setup may get u around 380ish with stock heads depending on variables. Do all the plugs wires, etc while its out and a set of ls6 243 heads can be had for around 500 rebuilt off fleabay or can be found used for around 400 if u can swing that id say 400 is there...
