Default Truck Coils

Anyone happen to know if they'll bolt onto our valve covers?

They're a lot stronger than car coils. And I can get a set used for $200

They do not fit your stock brackets but they will fit if you get truck brackets and wire harness. We do alot of valve covers with truck brackets(be careful there are 4 different truck coils)

The truck coils with the heat sink is the ones you want, and they will fit the stock LS valve covers, just sit a little higher to the fuel rails. Only mod you will have to do is either move one of the coils down a bit on the drivers side to fit under the fuel rail connector from the fuel lines, or the other way is to bend the connecter up to alow the coil to clear under it. I choose to relocate the coil down a bit on the bracket insted of bending the fule rail up. Only other thing I had to do was take the evap can off its mount and let it sit on the fuel rail and coil mount. Here are some pics.

In this pic you can see where the third coil sits a little lower that the first two. I just used self tapping screws to set the coil in that position. You can also see the evap can sitting between the two coils.

Check the LS1 Tech classifieds. I saw a few in there for sale.

I have been trying to get these for thier better spark. People like these better than the MSD's. The first time I got these they were listed as LS2 truck coils with the heatsinks and when they arrived they were regular LS2 coils. Yes, I was pi$$ed to say the least.

I just ordered another set from someone who is supposed to have an impeccable trader rating on Feb. 27th. He asked me to notify him when payment was sent, which I did do. I asked him to let me know when he recieves payment and when they will ship and have heard nothing. I am getting really pissed and am thinking of never again buying anything off of this site again. He could have at least told me he got the payment. What a friggin' joke this is...

Fit fine, just use the truck bracket. If you buy each side off a truck, all you will need to do is bolt them down to our valve cover.

I should have these in a few days. I was finally contacted about them.

I'll let you know how easy the install is. I bought a complete set with the brackets and connectors to just make it plug and play.

Well, the install on these is very easy and we do NOT need to modify one single thing. The biggest pain in the a$$ was getting the bracket bolt out near the alternator. I got some electrical tape and wedged it into the 10mm socket and carefully snaked the bolt out. If it falls it will fall on the aluminum cradle and it will not be on the ground. Just an FYI. You also cannot use the engine cover after this mod. The pegs are too short since the coils sit about 1/2" higher. The rear coil near the alternator sits right up against the aluminum power steering line. This will NOT be a problem once you get in there and see what I am talking about. It just buts up against it, nothing will get harmed or will melt there is a plastic cover over this line anyway. Here are the steps I took.

1. Took negative battery cable off. (10mm socket)
2. Unplug the main connector on the bracket. (it is light grey / beige and about 2" wide)
3. Unplug each coil from the spark plug wires.
3a.(Rear one only) Unplug the O2 sensor. (it crosses over the rear bracket)
4. Take off the 5 bolts (10mm) holding the bracket to the valve covers.

To install just reverse these directions. The truck brackets fit our valve covers perfetly, almost better than the factory coil brackets. Our plug wires also fit fine too.

I took the car out for a ride and noticed it seemed to run smoother. One of my objectives besides trying to get better spark was to see if my gas milage goes up. I'll know that in a week or so.

Good mod if you can get them cheap enough. Should be worth a couple ponies.
