I think that's legal. It just has to be in plain sight. I feel bad for all you guys that need front plates. That's one good thing about Michigan. No front plates...

Re: is this legal?
What about big trucks that the bumper sits WAY higher than 48 inches?
You have to have one here in TX, but no one does, and hardly ever gets a ticket for it. If you do get one all you have to do is put the plate on (tape it on/no holes) and go tell the judge you put it on on within 10 days and they will drop it. I have been pulled over for it once in 3 years and didnt get a ticket. If you really want to be sneaky you can put it on the air dam

Re: is this legal?
I know first hand that in NY the plate must be on the front bumper of the car at the foward most point b/c I got a $75 fu..in ticket last month. Plus both my brothers are cops and they told me it's illegal and always hassel me over it. Actually in Nassau County were my one brother is a cop they are told on certain day's by their bosses to give tickets for no front license plate. My brother told me that Corvettes are their favorite b/c 99% don't have them! Even with 3 PBA cards the Di..head State Trooper gave me the ticket. I still don't have a plate on the front though! The last couple of car shows I've gone to the cops when you leave are like get a plate on the front or next time I'll give you a ticket.
