Default SES light

My service engine soon light just came on today.

I was wondering how Im supposed to check what the problem is. Where do I go to get it code checked?

oh and its a '98 v6.

Take the car to your local AutoZone. They'll read the code for you for free, and then tell you what it's saying. Hopefully it's something simple, and you can fix it on the first try. Sometimes the codes aren't very specific as to what the problem is, or the same code is used for multiple issues. When that happens, you kind of have to guess and pick one in hopes that you're right.

I would have to disagree. OBD2 cars are always more specific than OBD1 cars.And autozone sucks *****. Try to find someone with a code reader for OBD2 and do the research yourself so u can get to know your vehicle
