Default Window rolls up half way and stops ?

My drivers side window rolls up half to 3/4 of the way and stops, anybody have this happen? It freezes and won't go up or down for 2-3 minutes then it works again.

Would this be the switch or the motor?
Where can I find a good replacement? Does anyone make a better factory looking part?

Yeah more than likely the motor. There is a right up available(i think its stickied somewhere). It isnt really bad to do especially if the fix has already been done and the rivets have been drilled. Mine started doing this in my WS6 drivers side at about 30k mi, kind of a **** off, but whatever.

Yeah you CAN clean up the window motor and get it working, but not really worth it, get a lifetime warr unit

Before you go an replace any motors, perhaps you should do a little reading in this link and see if you are up to doing the work, or you can copy it and have someone do it for you.

Here's the link: https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...step-pics.html

Not trying to hijack this guys thread but my passenger window rolls up and down fine but when it gets close to the top like and inch away it just stops. When you roll it down it kinda "drops" a little bit but still rolls up and down fine, could that be the mounts holding the window cause the motor works great....

Oh and yea just get a replacement motor from ebay, i did that for my drivers side window and its been good for about a year and a half now

Get your motors from Auto Zone . They have a lifetime guaranty. If you get real good you can pull up on the window when you hit the window switch or if your lazy like me you can pay a local glass company $50.00 to change it out.

its the motor. not that difficult to switch out if you have the tools, especially the right drill bits. replaced mine 2 years ago, starting to run a bit slow, but still going. took me about 2 hours, but i was bullshitting with friends the whole time. really shouldn't take more than 45 min.
