Default I bought another toy...

The wife said I am using my tax refund for the wedding I'd really need to get myself a little toy...I was going to get a Mossbery 930 SPX semi auto but I figure the pump action sound would scare someone away with anyone even firing.....which is the goal. Using the actual firearm on someone is a nightmare I hope I never live to see.

i have a 20" mossberg 500 with a 7 shot tube. I love it, but with a pistol grip the action release is tough to get to.

Looking down the barrel of any 12ga is enough to scare anybody away, beleive me. Best home defense weapon you can buy.

Intimidating but by the time you rack one in the chamber I could have 5 holes in you lol. It's a nice "I'm a badass" gun, it'll get the job done.

Akimbo 1887 works too.

I agree, the fear factor is there, but I would always choose an carbine over a shotgun for a home defence gun.

WS6TransAm01 - I have both but I live in a condo, I dont want to hurt anyone across the hall or behind the walls. I also have a .45 with hollow points, a little less penetration/pass through then full metal jacket.

Ping King your right, the action is a little tougher to engage but I have the pump racked a couple of inches so I dont have to engage that.....just grab it, finish racking and it's ready.

CamaroRacing12 - Thats how I always think, too many people with guns want to be a Billy Badass, I just want to prevent anything from happening.

Oh guys, the military 00 buck shot (there are only 9 pellets in the shell the size of a 9mm bullet) dont drop off at 50 yards, dont spread more that a few feet wide and have a velocity of 1350 fps. It's a very impressive round.

I live in a condo as well. There was a lengthy discussion on m4carbine.net about which ammo to use for home defence and which weapon. The overwelming decision was an AR platform rifle with Hornady TAP ammo. The soft tip projectile will not over penetrate a body, gyp board wall and so forth.

My AR is by my bed at night with 15 rounds of

in the PMAG...

very nice, i have a pistol grip 12 ga 1300 deffender, i put a light with touch pad on it, and the same for me, im hoping the sound makes anyone not want to go any further.
i keep mine locked and loaded with a bird shot, bird shot, then 00 buck.
the reason for this is the main area i will be using this is in my house, the last thing i want is anything going threw a wall and hitting some one. i tested a bird shot from about 20 feet and it will not make it threw 2 sheets of drywall, which meens chances of it getting into another room is slim. not much in my house for a rik, so im not worried about it coming back at me.

nice piece tho

I have a 12 gauge, ar w/4 15rd mags, ak w/ 4 15rd mags and an M&P 40 with 2 mags in the safe.

I keep a glock 21 with 3 mags in the bedroom. I'm weary about a long gun in my house. Too many angles for a barrel grab. too hard to slice the pie without exposing myself too much.

wish SBRs were legal in NJ... would have a 10.5" Noveske with a can for home defence.
