I am just over exaggerating the stuff you have been saying. Just messing around. No need to get upset.

I wonder how fast this car needs to go before people can honestly say it will put a healthy spanking on a 4th gen.

1998 all over again.

4th gens have been out for over a decade now (ls1s) and are modified to some degree so the real question is IF the 5th gen will be able to put any spanking let alone a "healthy" one on the 2011 mustang gt!

Wow that's great. Did that guy post what rpm he's leaving the line at?

I doubt it. I am guessing the mustang will handle like a champ since it has the track pack suspension. Also looking at the power to weight it should be a tad quicker than the maro.

But I love my car and the LS3 is definitely a solid motor so I can always keep up im sure.

Pro-stock.... Im not sure if it was him or not. But one of the guys running solid times is leaving around 4000 rpm and letting the clutch out somewhat slowly until the car starts to take off, then punches it.

I really want to take my car to the track this year with my couple mods and see what I can do at Milan or US 131. Im just worried about breaking something or having something happen that insurance and or warranty will not cover.

thats what ive been arguing but everyone is in too much love with their fifth gens to accept this. ill have one someday though.

I don't see how you guys think half a second isn't much better or something to get excited about? I'm still waiting for Evan Smith to run a 5th gen for everyone to compare to his 12.8 4th gen run.

It was a 12.89

Not quite a half second difference so far. Only about 3 tenths looking at best times vs best times. I guess someone has run a 12.7 with a stock 4th gen before but I have never seen any proof of this so I am rather skeptical. The 12.58 for the 5th gen has a scanned time slip and several witnesses. One being a challenger guy...so I am rather certain this time is credible.

In my opinion a car that is 12.5 capable for 31k starting is rather impressive. Im not really sure what most people are expecting.

If all out speed is something people want then yes a 4th gen would be a better buy. Or just about any v8 rear drive sports car you can find for cheap and mod. Just get a used one and mod the hell out of it. But the combination of looks/performance/quality/price of the 5th gen right out of the factory is something to be very excited about IMO. And from the looks of the sales numbers, I think the majority of people would tend to agree.

12.58 is very impressive if it's a completely stock '10 Camaro.

I was thinking they would run a full second faster than the 98-02 cars. Since ls1's run about a second quicker than lt1 cars.

Not really. Still a 1.97 60ft. 3 12.6's have been run all ready as well. This car will do a 12.4 eventually with a good 60.
