Wondering what brand of Y-Pipe works on verts with stock manifolds? SLP makes one but they dont seem to think it will work unless you cut and weld it? So it seems silly to buy a new part, then cut it and re weld it? It would seem someone would make a Y-pipe for our cars that is just bolt on

Why though?
Kinda what I was thinking. Does that get rid of both the stock pipe and the cats? Still don't get it....

I ran a set of the Bassani off-road pipes for a while with no issues, only because the previous owner put JBA shorties on the car, and I wasnt ready to commit to long tubes.
The bassani was a y-pipe that eliminated the cats all together though

I'm running JBA's onto SLP Y-pipe to Borla Adjustable w/Qtec in lieu of plates.
To make the SLP y-pipe fit all we did was notch a small piece of the X brace, maybe 1 inch and weld a small piece of extra metal on the inside of the brace near the notch to regain any strength lost.
Though after looking at the x-brace it's doubtfull from how thin it is that it really does anything (not to mention I'm running UMI subframe connectors anyway).

Are these duals going over the axle? If so, what kind of mufflers are used in the setup, any more pictures?

IMO save your money and do it all at once. If not you will probably be wasting your money. At the same time i hear the mod itch. If you plan on keeping the car for a while. Save up for stainless LT's and corresponding ypipe.

The slp y will fit if all you want to replace is the y with everything else stock

I ran with the SLP Y for a while. I had to beat the shit out
of it, and the 'vert X-brace, to make it fit. And it made zero
difference at the track. Pipe is pipe, more or less.

Well, here are a couple clips of me driving it at an autocross, one is of me, two are of Ron, the manufacturer of the system actually... trying my car out. He drove the course in 1st gear, I ran it in second FWIW.

The system had been on the car about a month, the tone has changed some since then, Personally I think it sounds ever better now.
Ron's work is really top notch stuff. He has done the system on my Camaro, the olds, the 58 TBird, the 65 Tbird, my excursion, my old suburban, he also did my dad's Dodge truck
But you can check out his stuff here
