Default 3rd gen rear in a 4th gen ?

How would I get my wheels to fit? They are 18x9 38mm off set wheels going on a 3rd gen rear on a 4th gen car. Thanks.

I replaced the rearend in my 02 camaro with one out of a 86 camaro. i think it is 4 7/8 " shorter. This is just a bracket car that i run at the strip. I used a 15 by 8 " wheel with 4.5 backspace. fits fine with a 28 by 9 mickey thompson slick. no cutting or rubbing!

I believe the rear is 2" shorter on each side. But don't quote me on that. Either way you will either need to run a serious spacer or get a new set of rears with a different offset.
