are LT1 and LS1 starters interchangeable?

are LT1 and LS1 starters interchangeable? Mechanic has the car now and I hear the older starters are cheaper and lighter and are a direct replacement. Is it true? Do they have all the same connections and everything? Need to know by later this morning. Thanks.

No I'm pretty sure they don't interchange there isn't really anything that you can swap from an lt1 to and ls1. I checked the part numbers and their close but not the same
