Default $1000 Seat cushion

Hi everyone. I've got a 2005 CTS-V that is telling me to "service airbag". The passenger airbag light remains off. Took it to the dealer. Error code B0092. It seems that the passenger presence sensor is bad. Service guy said I needed a new seat cushion, to the tune of $799 plus about $200 labor. Ouch!

Do I really need a seat cushion? Is that sensor embedded in the seat or is it removable? Any ideas? Part numbers?

I cant answer your question exactly, but I bought the top and bottom cushions for the driver seat- about $100 plus shipping from Lindsay Cadillac. I took the seat apart and replaced these cushions. The seat covers themselves had wires attached for the heaters, but the cushions didn't. I have not had the passenger seat apart, but I have to assume the cushion has nothing to do with it, and I would call around and see what the various prices are for the part, then change it yourself.

The seat covers are what actually holds the seat warmers and you can get the top and bottom to the drivers seat for $100?

Might do that myself because my drivers seat shows some wear...

I think you have it mixed up, the leather etc holds the warmer and the cushion does not. So therefore the cover would be the leather which is expensive.

it is that easy. and im not confused. the leather covers have an electric blanket sewn into them. the pads themselves dont do **** to heat the seats.

the covers are like 180 each, i priced them. im not sure if they come in a top\bottom set or not.

before any of you guys buy cushions, you need to describe why you dont like th seat. the frame is bullshit and has no right side support. the cushion doesnt do **** to brace you on the right side. i modified mine with foam tape, but will be taking it back out to weld additional metal piece on the right side since i have the old cushion as a template.

The sensor you need is PN#10373508 - it has a MRSP of about $100 and GM Parts Direct shows it for $70 plus shipping.

They are supposed to get 1.5 hours labor (flat rate manual standard)to install it.

Thanks for the help. I took the seat apart a bit and it seems like an easy install. Damn the seats are heavy!

I have the same issue with my '05 CTS, how hard was it to fix it yourself. What steps were involved. I am seriously thinking about doing it myself, I have some basic know-how I just don't want to get into something I can't finish. Are there any repair guides that you recommend?

my car did the same thing, I took it in and they did a whole lower half of the seat, cover and everything... This happened right after I got it outa storage (my fat buddy also was the first one in the passenger seat for the year aswell) and the battery had went dead and wouldn't hold a charge anymore over the winter, this might have cause it and yet another good reason y I recommend a battery tender now and also that you don't let fat girls/buddys ride in ur performance sedan
