Street Racing & Kill Stories - Killed my first Mustang 2day

OK so i was drivin down a 3 lane street and a 06 07 Mustang GT pulls up to me and we end up side by side at a light....he revs...i answer with a lets go look...lights turns green and we take off...lets just say it killing this Mustang was easier than finding a stripper whos intereseted in you..haha it sounded like it just has flowmasters and that was it...NO CHANCE haha just wanna post this up it my first kill since i got my Trans Am

Every time I ran one they fell back so fast. At first I didn't think threy were racing but they were lol. All a had was full bolt on's and the hot cam I only made 350whp.

the new 5.0 GT is gonna be something to watch for. 420hp at the crank in a 3600lb car should be faster then a stock or slightly modded 4th gen. No more easy mustang kills(well at least new ones)

I agree. The new Camaro is just far too heavy and I think ford finally has a faster product. Only took them till now to finally get there though. We will see once some comparisons are done. I think it was smart of Ford to hold out the new 5.0 platform until after the camaro hit. Just make sense as it's too costly for GM to rethink the camaro so early into this generation.

Sounded horrible and pounded me like a baby seal, throwing fire out every shift...what the hell, took me a long time to live that down. I'm not bench racing, but I think ford finally has a GT that will compete with an SS Camaro. Still close to call, but both cars should rival really well in stock form and aftermarket

Stock on stock i think the new mustang will outrun the camaro.. BUT it is a factory bolt-on car meaning less gains from headers and intake and simple mods..

Everything I have read about it thus far seems to point that it's going to be a decent performer. Actually, more than likely above average.

See, vehicles are overrated a lot. And probably this is one of them. And I don't hate mustangs at all, I just don't like em.... Doesn't mean I hate em, and don't get me wrong there are some good looking mustangs out there but it's kinda rare to see them. I don't like the style of the 05-09' stangs 10' looks a little better. People disagree with me and I know it, it's fine idc.

I thought i read some where there estimating the new mustang to run 12.8-12.9's. Again this was an estimate. No one will know for sure till it comes out. Now i think it will be a close race between the two. Also will have alot to do with the driver. If the driver sucks then well the car will suck. Just my 2cents.

I think GM did exactly what i thought they would do.1 Come out with there new car first. 2 Give it a baseline performance level to fit right in with some of the cars out now. 3 Wait til the new mustang comes out and upgrade next year or two to wax that mustang ass. As far as GM not being able to afford a new setup, the 5.0l makes 420hp and the 6.2l can only muster 426hp? Come on now seriously?:eyes: Mod for mod the camaro should walk away obviously. Now im not hating on the mustang. I really like it and I bet it will run. This is just my thoughts on it.

P.S.- 420hp sounds nice, but where's the torque numbers on that 5.0? Has anybody found a dyno chart of the car yet? Just curious.

Thats alot of torque coming from that 5.0. About the vette, they both match in power now. Wouldn't they just move the vette higher the same way they do the camaro? :confused:

This is the first time in a long time that I truly believe that ford has finally got something to take on a camaro with. I just hope for Fords sake that the cars that hit the streets are showing similar power to this media car as that would be really shitty if it didn't.

it is dawning on me more and more than LS1s are going to the owners ego. ls1 > all. FALSE. the old mentality that we accused a good amount of mustang owners of has fallen onto the ls1 owners as they have become the new 5.0 fox.

Camaro still as plenty of room for power. They are nearly 4,000 lbs so even if it has a higher power rating than the Vette, it will most likely not be faster. In all honesty I think the LS3/9/7/A is the end of traditional LS motors. They will be switching to direct injection, smaller displacement but still pushrod motors. A 3900lb camaro would need nearly 540hp to match the power to weight of a 3200lb 436hp Vette.

the new 5.0 GT is gonna be something to watch for. 420hp at the crank in a 3600lb car should be faster then a stock or slightly modded 4th gen. No more easy mustang kills(well at least new ones)

It's going to take a few mods to make a 4th gen take a stock 2011 GT. Considering that it's probably faster than a stock 5th gen.

2005-2009 rear looks dumb IMHO I love the modern look of the new rear of the mustang.

IMHO the 2011 mustang is ugly, but the 2010 camaro is even uglier. Good thing I like cars for their performance more so than looks as I'd still shop for either.

I don't think either are ugly. I think the 10/11 model of the GT looks better than the 05-09. I always liked the looks of the NewEdge body style over the 05-09. But I like the 10/11 body style even better than that. It looks as if they took the best of the newedge and the 05+ stangs and mashed them together. It looks more modern now, and less "retro" than the 05-09.

As far as the new Camaro goes, It doesn't look UGLY.. but I don't like the rear all that well. A lowered 5th gen looks really hot IMHO. It makes the car look completely different IMHO.

The comment I made wasn't one to be taken seriously. I know the speed difference wont be that great. I actually LIKE the fact that they are that close.

Having said that, I've beaten a few people that drive stock LS1 Z28s in my 2v GT. But I'd never say I can take LS1 fbodies in my car regardless of that fact. I knew I was racing the person, not the car. There is about a .4-.6 difference in 1/4 times between said cars. The 2 I beat had to have drivers that were simply clueless about how to drive for me to even be that close to them.

I in no way think that GM will let this slide either. Unless of course the Obama administration ties their hands on this one.
