General LSX Automobile Discussion - Transferring GMPP

I am currently looking at a vehicle that is still covered under GMPP, and has a blown transmission. The guy is looking to sell it very inexpensively so I was wondering how hard of a process it is to transfer a GMPP? Is the process more headache then its worth?
