Default thinkin about a 99 ss

i pretty new to ls1tech but i been over on pt.net for a while and now i found a 99 camaro ss i really want and im thinking about selling the 03 silverado and getting the camaro. i know it has a ls1 backed by a 6 speed, and i know the chevy 10 bolt is crap but what is some other pros and cons for this car. oh yea its a 99 camaro ss, black w/ t-tops, and the guy cut the muffler off for some reason but other than that shes a virgin.

Leather or cloth?

okay well i can think of several pros and cons....cons would be the rearend as noted, any track use you wanna get subrame connectors for added stability (will also help with handling) but gonna cost you 150 plus install...excessive miles/idiot previous owner/future plans for mods are all reasons for a new clutch down the road....over 400whp and you want to look into a driveshaft safety lupe...over 500whp and you are gonna be putting the rods, rod bolts, and pistons to the test.....
pros include...great visually stimulating car(lol) runs hard/stops good/handles well....HUGE aftermarket with basically every part that exists on the car that has about 10 people making their own version....so you can set up the car exactly how YOU want it to. the car also responds quite well to mods, they come with 290-300whp stock and with full bolt ons you will be up at about 340(not even touching the motor)...and to top it off the ls series motors in general seem to last a very long time..my grandpa worked for GM for 33 years and says that motor should last ya 200,000 miles if it wasnt beat to ****.....
so there is a a few cons but in popular opinion the pros outweigh the cons.....id also like to add that just in general if you got cash for a ls1 car what you get for what you pay repressents one hell of a deal. I also find it easy to find these cars for a good deal (good deals all over) drive the car for awhile and re-sell it for what ya paid.

9K for it?? Bad deal IMO. With 120K, 6500 cash would be a good deal.

I have a T/A and an EC Z-71 and if I had to choose one I would have to get rid of the car. I love it death but there are times when I just have to have the room and utility the truck provides....

It is a GREAT deal! (for the seller), as with most everything, perspective matters a lot in life...

well i driven the car for the past to days an i love this thing, it seems like it has a endless powerband and this car is in great shape. i know this car has not been driven hard cause it has 120,000 miles and still has the original clutch.

He's asking way too much money for it. You could pick up a car with half the mileage for that much money. Just think of it like this: 120,000 miles means you're going to have to do a lot of service, even if he took good care of it. Expect to replace the clutch/hydraulics for sure if it's original. I'm not saying don't buy the car, just make sure you know what you're getting in to.

That's my 2 cents

That's way too much money. As a point of reference, I paid $7,500 for my 90k mile car this past september. Since then, the prices have gone down...not up. I wouldn't pay over $6,000 for that car.

I did a LOT of research before I bought mine. One thing I would have done differently is to purchase a 01-02 SS, as it already has the LS6 intake. That's only really an issue if you're thinking about fixing it up. Just my $.02...
