Car Dolly to the track?

Car Dolly to the track? I just was given a car dolly, and I figured I'll use this to take my race car to the track.
The track is only 3-5 miles down the road, mainly doing it so if I break, I don't have to scramble to get a trailer or a tow....plus it's free and perfect shape
I WAS going to strap it down with my skinny bogarts on it upfront, but then thought maybe that isn't a good idea. So I thought I could change at least the front tires at the track. Or do all 4 at the track, so I don't risk a nail or something in my slicks (with my luck)
Does anybody do this? I figured I'd grab an electric impact wrench and maybe a small jack instead of my heavy *** 5 ton Craftsman.
If anyone recommends a jack, let me know!

i got an aluminum race jack from harbor freight its light and full size so no worries about it tipping over(had a small jack do this under my el camino not fun) i think they are normally $79 but if you pick up a carcraft there should be a coupon to get it for $59

ah good point
I figured the weak points right now are my clutch is going to fry, or snap a U Joint. I've got a Curry 9" in the back, for my low power levels, it's overkill

It is highly recommended, but 3-5 miles might be OK, if it was an emergeny. Like everyone else has said, drive the car and use the dolly in an emergency situation only.

well right now the plan is to take the exhaust off, so open headers, probably switch to race fuel, etc.
And I live in a TINY town, and I can't just "idle" out of town.
Why does the driveshaft have to be removed? I figured leave the trans in neutral and everything is A-Ok?

for that short of distance its no problem really. ive never used a dolley but im pretty sure you can put the rear wheels on the dolly and you wont have to worry about any of that. -tony-
