I'm getting a new one when I get back from Afghanistan. Hopefully they got some newer stuff than the Blackberry line, I hate mine. I am really liking the droids, very similar to the Iphones.

I just got a droid phone with verizon, they are buy one get one free. As far as deals go, I'm still on my discounted plan from my 24 hour fitness days. Ask verizon to look up your company, they have deals with a lot of random ones.

the user interface on top of android is bad *** on it, but hardware wise the droid outtakes it. im rooted, so i have a modified 2.1 rom overclocked to 1.0ghz. theres home replacement apps that can give you more screens and widget apps that are almost like the HTC ones.

I bought my son the HTC droid and the Motorola droid fro myself.
The Motorola comes with 16gm SD card, where the HTC has 8. Both are upgradable.
I think his phone is better, if you are used to iphones you will probably like the HTC better too. The native browser supports multitouch-pinch zoom, the motorola droid does not. The HTC camera takes pics faster too.
I bought the Motorola because of the slide out keyboard (I was using an LG enV before) and the hard keyboard sucks (IMO). I never use it. I prefer the touch screen keyboard.
two things. Get a screen protector (Cheap on eBay) and a case.

you can get the clock thats like the eris's its called beautiful widgets.
processor wise the droid is pretty loaded, the omap3 has an on board GPU and you can OC them to 1.2ghz when you root.
the HTC eris is also running android 1.5, not 2.0 or 2.1 yet, there was a leaked version of 2.1 for it but it wasnt complete yet. whichever phone you get you would like though. or if you want a good non keyboard phone, wait for the HTC incredible. big screen, sense UI like the eris, and a snapdragon 1gig processor. itll be out by june.

Plus the Google phone itself, what it is called again? NExus?
Hey Revelation have you used the Dolphin browser yet?
I like it (supports multitouch) and has tabs like firefox but I've seen a few glitches with it. Just wondering if you have seen any issues.
Another thing that is cool on the HTC, that I haven't been able to find on my droid is a setting to not allow touch sites, and only show full sites.

yea, ive used dolphin, i didnt really like it compared to the default one since everything is so wide spread (options and settings). and im trying out opera mini 5 beta currently, it has tabs like dolphin. im using the default browser too with multitouch from the euro version of the droid called milestone since my root rom has it. also the live wallpapers and 3D gallery are bad ***
if you want a good home replacement, im using home++ it lets you take screenshots and have up to 7 screens. ill post some shots of my pages/wallpaper for an example later.
for desktop sites vs mobile, i just hit the "use html site" links if they have them.
